Kade and I went with Cindi and Aiden to Junction for a quick overnight. We picked up Kirby (Cindi's sister) and her two boys Truett and Rylee, and other sister Kelly's boy Grey. We braved the mesquitos they were horrible but we made it to the lake. (lost lake) This is Truett, Kade and Rylee leading the way.

Aiden and Cindi. Aiden wanted to be held, he was a trooper and made it all the way though. He loved my camelback and kept saying water, water, water. So every so often I would lean down and let him get water from my camelback and it kept him focused.

We had a great time, we went to shreks forever after the night before and swam in the hotel swimming pool, and I got my fix at 8am. (starbucks) Our hotel was right next too it. Thanks Cindi!!!

Singing all the songs, however we were sitting on the front row and he kept smiling at us everytime the camera went up, his BFF was sitting next to him Chloe.

Ok so...... I have been out of the blogging, facebook world since before the holidays, my bad. A lot has happened lets just start at the top- I mean November.

November: The usual Thanksgiving dinner was yummy and was in the middle of training for Footlocker championships in California with my athletes.
December: The first weekend, 16 of my athletes from the cross country season ventured to Walnut California for the Western Footlocker Championships. I had some stand out performances and was pleased with how the trip went. We had a huge success in October with our fundraiser with the help of Pierce Oil and the local community, which lightened our trip expense tremendously. We were able to spend time in Disneyland along with the four day trip.
Christmas was nice and relaxing spent a few days with my parents and Kade enjoyed himself ofcourse!!!
New years was full of excitement lot of pots banging and well just trying to stay awake until midnight. Oh yeah I turned 31 on the 29th of December....
January: Hmmm....... flew by!
Febuary: In the middle.
Sorry no pictures I know I am lame. I will try and work on that.

Kade is now in the 2nd grade! This is our third Halloween and third pumpkin!!! He decided to smash up cookies for the dirt, and poke holes in the pumpkin and put worms coming out all over the place. We have won every year so...... we had too hold up to our previous year.

I posted these pictures a few weeks back, however they were taken with my phone and uploaded really small so here we go again the pictures from our Roberts family reunion.

Sarah and I had corn on the cob and it shows.....

This was the cool whip and m&m challenge. There were 15 m&m's on the plate then Linda (my mom) covered them with cool whip and you had to use nothing but your mouth to retrieve them. Also a fish was the prize. Dal won the older group and Brynnli won the younger group. Kade didnt try as hard he had already won his fish and wanted Brynnli to also win a fish. She did by one m&m.

This is Kade getting ice cubes out of a pool with his feet and trying to get as many as he can into his bucket.... this was too win a fish. Well lets just say Kade was determined and was not going to pass up an animal or pet of any sort. HE WON!!!! It was so funny. I even played it and I won too.

Well, were back to our 6:30am wake up time. Kade was so excited for school to start today. He has lots of kids in his class from last year that he knows and excited to meet his new teacher. He learned the "FIRE POWER" move while spending time with my cross country team at high altitude camp. He was so funny this morning I was just taking pictures and he says "Mom, Firepower..... woot woot." So funny he didnt understand why I started laughing. He is such a good kid, I told him to respect his teacher and he said, "oh mom I always am, I only back talk you." Oh Thanks KADE!!!!

Running Camp at Joes Valley

Kade and Dal went on the run with us Friday afternoon to the CCC trail. These are the pictures from on the trail overlooking Joes Valley.
After the kids finished the run we cliff jumped off this rock and Dal was determined to do it. He is a good swimmer, he looks small in the picture but that is him. The team had a blast jumping as well.
Kade enjoyed hanging out with Grandpa and Dal fishing and burning stuff in the fire. My athletes taught him tons of "new" tricks to do in the fire. Lets just say Kade was just playing monkey see monkey do.

Track meets, track meets, track meets............ Atleast once a week I have a track meet sometimes twice a week. This past weekend we hosted our home Invitational. Fourteen schools attended the meet. Our girls team brought home a 2nd place trophy both Jimmy and myself were very pleased with all the girls performances. We ran tough relays as well as some top performances in individual events. We are looking forward to a very successful season. Here are a few pictures of my sunburned face at the meet.

This has got to be my favorite thing! I love my close line! Especially for my sheets. It is such a nice day today that I have torn the beds apart and am washing everything! I love it! Tonight is going to be a joyous night in clean sheets. Kade and I are going to put the tramp up as well, hopefully we have seen the last of the snow. I will probably jinx myself but I cant wait and neither can Kade.

12 Years ago during high school I attended the simplot games in Pocatello Idaho with my team. We ran the 4x800 meter relay. This is the largest indoor high school track meet in the nation. (left to right...... Sinika, Me, Lindsey and Angie. The picture is a bad copy but I am excited I found it.
This past weekend I took 11 of my athletes to the Simplot games in Idaho. My girls team ran the 4x4 relay as well as my boys. It was fun to be there and participate from a different standpoint.

Yesterday was parent teacher conferences for Kade. For those of you who, who do not know, Kade is in 1st grade. He will be 7 in April. The reason I am explaining all this is because his teacher informed me yesterday that he is above grade level in all his academics. However................ He is struggling in social. Not that he is shy or does not get along well with his classmates. He is a social butterfly with the GIRLS! or as the teacher would say, "Kade cannot keep the girls away" UH OH! He has to be moved everytime he is seated next to a girl. The teacher thinks it is hard on Kade because at first she thought it was him doing all the talking and distracting, however after she observed and listened to what Kade would tell her she realized the girls just like to talk to him. Long story short he has received FOUR valentines already from girls in his class. This is what most of them say..........

I am only posting this because the teacher was concerned for Kade because he is being distracted in class. He tries to ignore the girls and now his teacher is well aware of the situation and steps in when she needs too.

100th Day of school

January 26th is the 100th day of school for Kade. His teacher had his class do a homework assignment that consisted of finding 100 things around the house and sharing them with the class or making something and sharing it with the class. I suggested sugar cubes to Kade and he loved the idea. Last night we glued the 100 cubes to a file folder and used food coloring to spice it up a little. I took Kades picture this morning before he left. He has had a cold and he looks a little sick but this is his project.

CHRISTMAS........ HOLIDAY BOWL......NEW YEARS!!!!!

First things first! Christmas was so exciting this year. I could not wait for Kade to unwrap his gifts. He also was very excited. He asked for a snojack....(aka a sno scooter/snowboard) dominoes, chia pet, nintendo ds game and much much more! He was so excited Christmas morning..... most favorite gift was his CHIA PET! The kid loves growing things. This year he spent the week before Christmas with me and on Christmas day he went with Danny to spend the 2nd half of the break with him.

Second...... Christmas night in all the snow I flew to San Diego with Bowl Games of America. After being delayed three hours for deicing and snow removal from the run ways we were on our way. For those of you whom I did not tell I was doing this personally, this was a job that a friend asked me to help her staff. Amy Ursenbach (Campbell) event director from Bowl Games of America, her company produces the half time shows for 8 of the bowl games across the nation. The Holiday bowl was her event. After years of planning and coordinating it came together so well. It was a great experience and definetley "NO TIME FOR SARCASM!!!!" This was our little joke amongst Amy, her husband Jeremiah and myself. It was go go go all the time and we still found time to crack funnies and enjoy ourselves. This is a picture of Amy and myself sitting behind the bands taking a little breather before we began bringing the 16 schools of bands onto the field for the half time show.
Lastly..... New Years! On New years eve I was flying home from San Diego however once I got home I went and had sushi YUM YUM and celebrated at the sushi bar. New years day my family celebrated our Christmas party because I was out of town for so long they had it when I got home. Kade came over for the day at my parents and we played the bloomer game, ate yummy food, played do or die with the foam dart guns, and those of you who know Linda..... games, games, games! Then I drove back that night to Price to a driveway full of snow that took me nearly three hours to clear! YEAH! I will have more pictures once I get them. Happy New Year ALL!!!!!

First......... On Friday Kade was part of the Helper Christmas light parade. He was so excited to ride on the float at night and wave to all the people. I put him on the float at 6:30pm and he got off at 8:00pm. Can you guess??? He was FROZE!!! and when I asked him if he enjoyed it he said he couldn't feel his legs. He stayed in the same position the entire time and was numb. By the time he got to where I was watching the parade he was nearly asleep.

So this is our turtle. He is an aquatic red ear slider turtle. Up until now he has eaten mealworms and pellet food. He is now onto bigger and better things...... Gold Fish! If you look close in the one picture you can see him staring his prey down. Turtles have lots of diseases and so we have been very careful when we handle him. Very thorough hand wash when were done. His name is Tiny Tim.... I think???? It changes quite regularly. Kade was coloring waiting for the turtle to eat the fish......

Who you going to call...........Ghostbusters!!!!

Kade was a GHOSTBUSTER for Halloween! He watches ghostbuster quite regularly. It was funny because most kids his age have know idea who the ghostbusters are. He went trick or treating in Provo with my sisters kids and had a blast. This weekend was a busy one for us, it was State volleyball at UVU. My niece who plays for 1A Wayne High made it to State and played very well. They finished 5th in the state and Carbon girls played for the State championship halloween night and took 2nd. Kade also had his annual pumpkin decorating contest and once again won!

So......... this is a picture of me with my mouth so full of skittles that if I would have smiled any longer I would have drooled all over the place. How this started? On the way home from a meet on the bus my athletes convinced me to play a game called skittles. They had bought a 5lb bag of skittles when we stopped for dinner and snuck them on the bus. We arents supposed to have any food on the bus. I usually sit in the front of the bus and mind my own business and occasionally walk back or look back and check on them. Well........... I made my way to the middle of the bus to see what they were all laughing about and this is what I joined! One person is designated to pull two skittles out of the bag and hand them to everyone who is playing if you get doubles (two of the same color) you can chew your skittles. If you dont you have to hold them in your mouth until you do get a pair. As you can guess I didnt get to chew my skittles very often. It was fun...... those of you who are in young womans this would be a fun game to play. You just take turns going around the circle. The catch is, if you get doubles you have to hurry and chew as fast as you can, cause if someone else get doubles after you or it makes it back around the circle you have to stop chewing! I learned that if you dont chew its easier......... once the skittles are broke open they hurt your throat and the gag reflex kicks in. Good luck if you play it. I believe I have over 75 skittles in my mouth. I lost track after 50!

Kade is such a trooper. He attends nearly all my weekday meets and practices. He enjoys the bus rides and getting checked out of school early once a week. He enjoys tormenting my athletes or doing gymnast tricks when they are stretching or just hanging out. We have a break before Outdoor track starts. Most of those meets are on Saturdays so he doesnt come to a lot of those. Frustrates him when he comes back from his fathers for the weekend and finds out I was out of town for a track meet.

Kade and Matthew playing in the sand. They didn't have school today because of parent teacher conferences. I remember doing this exact thing as a child. Building rivers and roads in the sand and then filling it with water. My parents used to hate it because it made such a mess. I am feeling the same way. They continue to keep putting water in it and don't know when enough is enough.

Ok so today was my first official Cross Country meet. My team traveled to Moab early this morning however we didn't beat the heat but we came out on top. My varsity boys ran so well, those of you who know running lingo they had at 32 sec gap for top 5!!!! Our team won both the varsity boys race and the Jv race. The course was held on the Moab golfcourse I drove a golf cart around cheering and yelling crazy coach in the golf cart.... It was nearly 100 degrees but they ran tough! My girls ran well as well however I only have 4 on my team and for those of you who don't know I need 5 to make a scoring team. So my girls ran individually and ran GREAT! I had a 2nd place finish a 10th and 12th overall! There were 8 teams who competed from surrounding states Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. I love Coaching and look forward to a successful season!

Right now Im sitting at my computer and Matthew and Kade have built a massive thomas the train track in my front room they have been working on it all morning. I was just typing something up for the upcoming xcountry season and I hear Kade say this........... " Hey, do you want to be best friends not just friends?" Matthew then says......... "sure." I thought it was so cute. They play together nearly everyday and get along better the more they play. Matthew is going into 2nd grade so he is a year older then Kade. He lives next door and it has been great for the summer. In the beginning they fought over eachothers toys and couldnt agree on what to ever do. Now they each make decisions and can agree on things.... Kade mentioned the other day that he didnt want to move from this house cause he didnt want to have to make new friends.

Today Luke my dad Kade and myself went golfing at Carbon. It was extremely hot but we had fun. We played 18 holes and drank ten waters!

This past weekend Tawni and her two youngest Dal and Brynnli and Kade and I went to my moms side of the family reunion in Bluffdale. We played water games, human fusball, kickball and ate dinner. It was fun to be around all the cousins. My cousins..... This is Dal devising a plan to get someone wet!

I contiplated between a tramp and swingset? Obviously I went with the tramp. Kade and I slept on it the first night. Cant hardly stand to jump on it until the sun goes down. I convinced him to let me take pictures, however it was blazing HOT!

Last week I spent three days preparing my backyard for sod. Raking and removing rocks and all that good stuff. Then on Friday Cindi and I went to Layton to help her Daughter Amanda lay her sod and what was left we brought back here. I layed it that night. Then Saturday and Sunday I played in my annual golf tournament the mixed couple tournament, we played well but too many sandbaggers to get into the money. Then on Monday I got more sod and laid it and now this is the finished product. Way to go me!!!!

Kades favorite past time is to catch and play with all sorts of bugs. This is him with a centipede or something putting it into a straw and blowing it out. I don't even want to know if he is keeping track of which end he puts his mouth on and what end he puts the bug in. We went swimming to the Helper pool today it is way warm and Kade enjoyed it.

Kade and I were stranded at the post office with a dead battery, well actually a retarded battery. I left Kade in the car and ran into the post office and when I returned the car wouldnt start! UGH! I said Kade what did you do? Ofcourse he didnt do anything the car wouldnt turn over so I proceeded to lift the hood of the car and take a peek. A peek at what I do not know? I called my Dad and he asked me a few questions and we came to the conclusion that it was the battery and I needed to clean the posts. Oh but wait, I took my car tool box out of my trunk to put my golf clubs in the car! UGH! Thank goodness for Cindi! She rescued us, brought some tools and we cleaned the battery off and we were off and running. These pictures are of Kade passing the time while we waited for Cindi.

I can't believe a school year has came and went! Here we come first grade! I wanted to share some of Kades accomplishments of Kindergarten.
1)Winning first place for the school pumpkin contest for Halloween
2)Learning his address and both Danny and I phone numbers(didnt hesitate sharing them either)
3)Writing both his first and last name
4)Never had name written on board and was rewarded by going to the wave pool
5)Remained in the TOP 3 of his class all year
6)Learned and memorized his sight words within the first month of school
7)Sold his box of chocolates in less than 48hours (fundraiser)
8)Knows how to use the internet!!
9)Can almost run 3 complete laps around track without stopping, for those of you who don't know 4 laps equates to a MILE!
He likes to start out of the blocks so he might be my sprinter instead of distance
10)Survived the germs of Kindergarten! Missed a ton of school because of being sick, hopefully next year he has built up his immune system when those parents send kids to school sick! (ugh)
WAY TO GO KADE!!! NEXT STEP enjoy the summer and here we come 1ST GRADE!

Ok so everyone is posting food that they enjoy or that your kids enjoy. Over the last few years I have fallen in love with sushi. I would eat it once a week or more if I could. Unfortunatley we don't have a sushi place here in Price. When I make trips to Provo or Salt Lake I make an effort to go have sushi. I know most of you that do not like it are saying... oooooooh gross Telisse! Really you have to try it and have someone who knows what to try and what not to try. If you have a bad experience the first time you wont ever try it again. Sushi has become very americanized. That is probably why I can eat it. Give it a try! I have become such a fan that Kade is starting to enjoy it. I make my own rolls and if I put crab, avacado, fresh tuna Kade loves it! Im not sure if he enjoys the chopsticks he is getting the hang of or the sushi?? I have tried doing fruit sushi rolls they are good too. Happy sushi eating!

Last week Kade and I had a pretty busy week. On Wednesday my parents came down and we drove to Moab and stayed over night and golfed the next morning. It was a nice day and we had a ton of fun. Then on Friday we went to Salt Lake for the day and colored easter eggs with Luke our cousin, and went to the childrens musuem in Salt lake with Grandma. Kade had fun.......... Then Saturday Kade and I drove to I-70 and met Tawni and Darren and there family and we spent the day in the dessert. This is Kade and Brynnli playing on sand hill.

Scivally, 28, of Delaware, OH, died unexpectedly Monday, March 3, 2008.Misty was born May 15, 1979, in Salt Lake City, UT to Roy Dennis Purdy and Lisa Ann Stark. She graduated from Bingham High School in 1997 and married Shawn Ski Scivally, her high school love, on July 13, 2001. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Bountiful Temple. She and her family moved to Delaware, OH, in 2005. Misty was a wonderful, loving mother. She was a talented artist who enjoyed the "rustic" beauty in nature. She is a beautiful soul who will be greatly missed. Survived by her husband, Shawn, daughters: Colette, Camille, and Heidi, mother and step-father: Lisa and David Rasmussen of South Jordan, UT; brothers: Matthew (Stephanie) stationed in Germany with US Army Special Forces, and Michael, sisters: Emily (Clint) Cunningham, and Kaylyn Rasmussen, grandparents: Lorraine Purdy and Mervin and Verna Rasmussen. Preceded in death by her father, Roy Purdy. Funeral services will be Sat. March 8, 2008, 1 p.m. at the Parkway 9th Ward, 10200 S. 3200 W. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Track practice........

Track practice is getting a little easier now that we can atleast see the track and not have to wear snow shoes. Kade enjoys track and the kids really like him. Today he pushed Traxton around the track 3x in his stroller. Traxton is Coach Jewkes little boy. Dont ask me what these poses of kade are. CRAZY!!! His eyes are closed in both pictures.

Ok so.......... these pictures are my backyard. We have gotten a ton of snow this season obviously. However the other night I was sleeping peacefully when I woke up and thought somone was stealing my garbage can............

I layed there for a minute and thought............ what should I do. I didnt care? If they needed a garbage can they could have it.

So the next morning I woke up and went about my day. A few days passed and I was going to work at one of the rentals and walked out to my car and heard the garbage can stealer.... it was the rocks tumbling off the hillside!!! Oh my goodness it sounds just like a garbage can being rolled just way louder when your outside. The snow had melted and made lose rocks...... DUH!!!

Kade made his 26 Valentines and was so excited to give them to all of his classmates. This is him at school putting some in his bag. Kindergarteners dont make the fun little boxes at our school. Next year he will make a Valentine box. Chloe is Kades friend she rides the same bus and they get along really well at school.

And......... who would have thought I would get roses......... Someone helped Kade give these to me. They suprised me when I got home from track practice that day they were sitting on my kitchen table with a bear and a giant balloon.

For those of you who like to golf you can relate. My UGA renewal came in the mail yesterday!!! Im so sick of the snow! After playing in mesquite the golf bug is.......... Back! My shoes came from the Ecco rep and I think I have tried them on like 800 times. Kade is excited to get back on the course too. Im sure before golf season is in full swing I will be heading south again to play.

Over the summer we worked on this house. Sanded the cabinets, laid tile in the kitchen and bath and painted interior and exterior. From June to August then we put it on the market and sold it. Cindi and I have flipped almost all of her rentals in Helper however we havnt sold them just put renters in them.

Kade has had a blast with all the snow accumulation we have gotten so far this year. Me on the other hand have had enough shoveling our driveway and keeping up with the snow. The drives through Spanish Fork canyon have been yucky too. Other than that Kade and I had a wonderful Christmas and New year. Kades back in school and Im working on the last rental and selling homes.

Yesterday it snowed and snowed and snowed...... Kade had been home sick with the flu that is going around and missed Wednesday and Thursday of school and when he woke up Friday morning to 6 inches of snow he was sick again.... go figure. He didnt want to go to school, he wanted to stay home and play in the snow. Then I informed him "Kade, when you miss school then you don't play with friends or better yet outside in the cold." He quickly asked if it was short day and went to the bus stop. Last night Mathew and Kade played in the snow until way after dark. The snow from our driveway was built up high enough that from Mathews yard they could sled from his lawn onto our driveway. They loved it and had a blast. Kade woke up at 7 am and was ready to go again. 10am he got his bibs and snow gear all on and headed to Mathews and this is where I found them. They had walked over to the church and were sledding on the hill. Its still snowing in the surrounding mountains and is supposed to througout the day. Me on the other hand am waiting patiently for Ups to get here with presents so I can intercept him and hide the boxes. Kade was supposed to go to Dannys this weekend however yesterday I couldnt get through the canyon because of the snow. So he is staying here this weekend........ we are going to the Helper Light parade tonight. I will take pictures Im sure.

kades Surgery

Friday morning only two days after Halloween Kade and I traveled to Provo about 60 miles to the Utah Valley Medical Center. Kade was having surgery at 12:15pm. He was extremely nervous and starving! He had to have 4 teeth pulled to make room for his big boy teeth. He was brave and with a little sedation hardly recalls it. He struggled after the surgery keeping things in his empty tummy but over time he was ok. The next morning he was eating a bowl of trix cereal just fine. If you look close you might be able to see the first of his new teeth. WAY TO GO KADE!!!!

Drayston tried and tried to beat Tawni and I in a kettle car race. He was unsuccessful. Tawni and I got off the first time and had jello legs. Nice try Drayst.......... Dal did really well he only got stuck a couple times but maneuvered around pretty good. Way harder than it looks...... Tawni was way thirsty. No she just picked up someones waterbottle that they dropped.

Over the weekend Kade and his cousins Luke, Brynnli, Dal and Drayston went to Thanksgiving point and made there way through the corn maze and haunted monster. It was FREEZING!!!

Halloween Carnival

Kade is a ghoul/skeleton. He has a mask however he cannot wear it at school. He let me paint his face though. Sally Mauro Elementary celebrated Halloween on the 24th because of fall break. They had a carnival and spook alley. I helped with the carnival doing the putt putt and giving out treats. Kade has lots of friends and loves school.

Kade knows all the fourteen properties not only by whom occupies them but by physical address. Mom, "are we going to 810 house to work today or 41 Uintah?" As you can see he gets right down into it with us. We are taking a look at mold under a kitchen sink that our tenants neglected to let us know about. Kade loves Cam and mimicks what he does. Note the underwear......
Kade can tell you how to lay tile, grout, pull a camode and set a camode. Paint and whatever else he has helped us with. He loves getting down and dirty with us and loves learning. Now that he is in school he doesnt get to hang around so much.
